A Post-Rock tribute to Klaus Schulze...

As of this release, I shall be taking a short break from music in order to focus on some other aspects of my life. And what better way to end this first chapter of my electronic journey than to pay homage to one of the most influential electronic musicians of all time who we sadly most recently lost.

The late, and great, Klaus Schulze was one of the many Kosmiche artists who arose to prominence in early 70s Germany and became a leader in the art of electronic music. Along with other artists such as Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream (who he was once a member), and Cluster, Schulze's massive musical output has become one of the most innovative and influential collections of works that helped define modern popular music.

As primarily a Post-Rock/Ambient musician, when I was searching for ways to create Ambient sounds, I discovered (like many) the analogue synthesizer. It was around this time I discovered Klaus Schulze's music. It's influence on my playing/composition and also the comfort it has given me through dark times in my life has been quintessential and to that end a tribute seemed almost impossible 'not' to do.

Instead of straight copying Schulze's sound, the idea behind this album was to combine my already personally established Post-Rock sound with the analogue Textures and Sequences directly inspired by Klaus Schulze's best works notably 'Mirage' (1977) and Timewind (1975). Two records which hold a special place for me.

I do hope you enjoy and connect with this music as I do...

Rest in Kosmiche Peace Klaus Schulze.
